Hey, hey, hey Dacetacular nation! Chris Dace back with some breaking news revolving around Saban Brands and Lionsgate Films. If you're like me, 20 years ago you were rolling around the house, battling the imaginary Putties and protecting Angel Grove from the evil Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd. Well, now that I'm 25 years old, I still do the same thing—but now Lionsgate and Saban have agreed to bring the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers to the big screen one more time! In what is being hinted at as a reenvisioning of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers we were first introduced to in the early 1990s, Lionsgate has taken on this fanboy mission to give us the product we deserve. The CEO of Lionsgate films was quoted as follows about the partnership with Sabin.

"We're thrilled to be partnering with Haim Saban and his team to maximize the potential of this immensely successful and universally recognized franchise. The Power Rangers stories and characters have been embraced by generations of audiences for more than 20 years, and today they are more powerful than ever. We have the ideal partner and the perfect brand with which to create a motion picture event that will resonate with moviegoers around the world for years to come."

Sabin would go on to release his own comment about bringing the beloved franchise to the studio.

"Lionsgate is the perfect home for elevating our Power Rangers brand to the next level. They have the vision, marketing prowess and incredible track record in launching breakthrough hits from The Hunger Games to Twilight and Divergent. In partnership with the Lionsgate team, we're confident that we will capture the world of the Power Rangers and translate it into a unique and memorable motion picture phenomenon with a legacy all its own."

I for one am super stoked at this huge announcement today! Its been nearly 20 some years since my mommy took me to the theater to see the Rangers take on Ivan Ooze, and I look forward to sitting in a theater in the next couple years as a grown-ass adult cheering on the Rangers!
