Top 10 Crushes on Fall 2016 TV Season's Sexiest Women List

Posted by Anthony Mango - Friday, October 14, 2016

One of the longer-running segments here on Fanboys Anonymous has been the annual breakdown of the top 10 women on my television screen that I seem to be developing a bit of a crush on—fictional or otherwise—based on the shows that I'm currently watching. We've had characters over the years that range from marriage material like the lovable Tracy from How I Met Your Mother or stone-cold foxes who just exude sexuality like Sarah Shahi's Sameen Shaw from Person of Interest.

Which women are going to make the list this year? Let's go ahead and find out.

sexiest chicks TV 2016 hottest girls on television

Before we get started, I want to preface a few things. While the physical appearance is naturally dependent upon the actresses cast in those roles, the personality is judged entirely on the characters themselves and not the actresses. Someone could be a horrible human being, but they're playing a sweetheart of a character and that's why they're on the list. Likewise, an actress could be gorgeous and a total humanitarian, but they're an evil villain I would want nothing to do with. The judgment system is entirely on the looks and personality of the characters and not anything from behind the scenes. Bonus points might seep in, but there isn't a points system, so I try to ignore that as much as possible.

In no particular order, here is the list of the top 10 ladies who have caught my attention this season (so far):

Daisy Johnson / Quake / Skye (Chloe Bennet) from Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD Quake Ghost Rider Chloe Bennet photos

Since I started doing this list, there are only two people who have made it every list, and while she's changed her name from Skye to Daisy to Quake to Tremors and all sorts of other things, Chloe Bennet's character in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is one of them. She just continues to have it going for her. Admittedly, the more I see of Chloe Bennet herself doing cute things and coming off as a genuinely great person, the more I start attributing those qualities to her character, so that taints it a bit, but that's not to say the Daisy character doesn't have some of those qualities to begin with. I absolutely hate the overuse of the phrase "strong female character," but it's applicable here for sure. Daisy started off as a loner hacker orphan who was thrust into a world she couldn't comprehend, and over the course of a few seasons she's become one of the top agents in the organization who is reliable to put the mission above herself. When she struggles, it's usually due to her dedication to her friends or a confusion about the mission itself, not out of greed or laziness or anything like that. Sure, she's got her attitude problems—for example, she tends to have fistfights with every guy she hooks up with—but that's because it's a Marvel show, and with her having powers, that's a means to create tension. I'm sure if I were an agent working out of that base of operations, I'd be scoping Daisy out all the time.

Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) from Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Jemma Simmsons pics Elizabeth Henstridge season 4 AOS
She doesn't really seem to be smiling all that much this season...

I talked about Daisy, but while there have been plenty of worthwhile women from the same show that could also have made the list (Melinda May, Bobbi Morse, etc) the only other constant has been Jemma Simmons. She's an adorable genius with a good heart and a British accent, what's not to love? Elizabeth Henstridge is criminally underrated in the looks department, and while her character has had her share of moments where Jemma could have come off as irresponsible, standoffish, selfish, or bitchy, she's managed to breathe a sort of pitiful quality into it all to make it forgivable. In the end, everything Jemma does is for the benefit of her friends, and now that the character has finally hooked up with Leo Fitz, a lot of that edge has been taken off. In this season more than ever, she's just a flat-out likable character with no problems to get in the way (yet, at least), and every time she smiles, I just want to go "d'awww."

Ella Lopez (Aimee Garcia) from Lucifer

Lucifer pics Aimee Garcia Ella Lopez screenshots

If Rush Hour had premiered earlier last year, Aimee Garcia's character Didi Diaz would have made the list, but it didn't debut until March of 2016. Since that show's been cancelled and Garcia has joined the cast of Lucifer as a character that has similar qualities but has actually toned down some of the sass in favor of amping up the cuter quirks that she has, all the better!

Ella Lopez fits a lot of check marks on my list: she's smart, a good person, and has a sense of humor, and all that is wrapped up in a pretty package.

Since I didn't want to include more than two characters from the same show, I had to bump Dr. Kim Martin (Rachael Harris) from last year's list, as she hasn't been as prominently featured this year. That's a shame, though, as she's still funny and attractive in her own way, but Ella Lopez and our next entry took precedence over her. Who is the other woman who usurped the spot?

Charlotte Richards (Tricia Helfer) from Lucifer

Tricia Helfer pics Lucifer season 2

Okay, I'll admit it. This choice has absolutely nothing to do with personality. Tricia Helfer is just so goddamn hot that I can't have this list and not include her. While Lesley-Ann Brandt's Mazikeen character didn't make the list last year or this year because her sexy side didn't make up for her psychotic tendencies, I have to make an exception for Charlotte. There's just something about Tricia Helfer that I've been immeasurably attracted to in everything I've seen her in. Her character in Burn Notice wasn't a good person if I remember correctly, but I still dug her. I can't remember anything about her character in Two and a Half Men other than that she was hot. She certainly wasn't a role model in Community, but that didn't matter.

Who cares? Just look at her. Being behind the fourth wall, I know full well that her character is the literal mother of the devil who technically should be even above him on the list of the most evil characters in the history of creation, but if you put me in Los Angeles and she so much as winks at me, I'm sold. Also, think about all the puns I could make about her being a demon in the sack and such!

Amaya Jiwe (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) from DC's Legends of Tomorrow

DC TV Vixen Amaya Jiwe images Maisie Richardson-Sellers Legends of Tomorrow

Season 2 has just started and this character was literally only seen for a split second, so I'm jumping the gun, but I already know from the trailers and previews that I'm going to end up wanting to put her on the list. I've never been too into the Vixen superhero, but Maisie Richardson-Sellers is absolutely gorgeous to that same special tier level that I mentioned with Tricia Helfer. The one positive that works in her advantage even more, though, is that her character is going to be heroic, so I know she definitely won't have anywhere near as many negatives as Charlotte from Lucifer. Essentially, she'll end up being a very positive person who has a few flaws for storyline purposes, but nobody's perfect, and obviously they can't take a superhero and make them some racist baby-killing monster, so I'm sure whatever smudges she has on her record will be more than easy to ignore in comparison to the positives.

Iris West (Candice Patton) from The Flash

It's funny to look back on the previous years and see what things remain constant and which things change. In the 2013–2014 season, Iris West didn't exist. Instead, Felicity from Arrow was there, and that character eventually became the reason I stopped watching the show entirely. Iris did make the cut in 2014–2015, but almost hesitantly, as her character wasn't really doing all that much from the start of the first season but I had a good feeling about her. She made the list last year as well, but I considered putting Patty Spivot over her in a retroactive vote.

This season seems like it will revolve even more around Iris, but I'm actually a fan of that. While Arrow spends too much time trying to make #Olicity the focal point, The Flash is still about Barry Allen and his powers more than anything else. We all know Oliver Queen should have ended up with Black Canary, but the Tumblr mentality that got behind the Felicity character turned it into a show about how she complains but is always right and Ollie just puts his head down like a weak little puppy and agrees, then praises her for some reason. Iris, on the other hand, proves herself to actually be Barry's rock like a good couple should be. She's supportive of him, but not in an enabling way, and unlike Felicity, she isn't written as a superior, but an ally. Hell, she even tells him he can go back in time to change history just so he can be happy…TWICE!! She just lets him know that while she supports his decision, she wants to make sure he takes necessary precautions. Now that's a woman you can call a partner in your relationship, as opposed to an Olicity combination which is just a codependent and essentially mutually abusive one.

Plus, Candice Patton's nice to look at :P

Detective Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero) from Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Brooklyn Nine-Nine Melissa Fumero pics Amy Santiago

The only character other than Daisy Johnson who has made the list all four years is Detective Amy Santiago. Nothing has really changed from season to season about her character, so if you're interested in knowing why she's been on the list four times, just check the previous years. She's awkward and cute and smart and pretty. The end.

Trish Murtaugh (Keesha Sharp) from Lethal Weapon

Trish Murtaugh TV Lethal Weapon Keesha Sharp pics

Trish has a ton of great things going for her. Like the situation with Iris and Barry, Trish is an incredibly supportive partner to her husband Roger, but she also isn't a pushover. She manages to have a no-nonsense tough side to her without being domineering or bitchy—something that is surprisingly difficult for many screenwriters to do, oddly enough. Keesha Sharp also has a swagger where you can tell she knows that she has it going for her, cause, well, she does. Beautiful woman with a great smile and as far as Trish goes, in just a few episodes she's proven that she's a warm, kind, inviting, loving mother and wife who is somehow able to put up with not just Roger's shit but Martin's as well.

Maureen Cahill (Jordana Brewster) from Lethal Weapon

Jordana Brewster Lethal Weapon TV Maureen Cahill

I just think Jordana Brewster is hot. That's about it, really, other than her character being compassionate and smart. Mostly, though, it's for her looks—particularly her eyes.

Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) from Marvel's Luke Cage

Rosario Dawson screenshot images Claire Temple Luke Cage
I also don't like coffee, but I'll go for some (and some Chinese food)

While Luke Cage doesn't fit under the same specifications as the network television shows, because it's on Netflix, being a VOD platform doesn't mean it isn't still a television show. Its premiere was in late September, so it qualifies as a fall 2016 show.

If you want more clarification on why Claire Temple was chosen instead of Misty Knight, Reva Connors or anyone else, click on the Wed, Bed or Dead article and you'll find out why she beats them out.

HONORABLE MENTIONS

I thought about putting some of the women from Big Brother: Over the Top as I can never really utilize that show for this list, since every season comes out in the summer. However, while Morgan and Alex Willett have piqued my interest along with Shelby Stockton, it's kind of not fair for them to be on a list of characters when they're just normal people. It's a reality show, so I would be judging actual people on their actual personalities and looks, which is somewhat separate. Therefore, I disqualified them.

I also put a lot of consideration into adding Van (Zazie Beetz) from Atlanta until the episode that revolved around her smoking weed the night before her drug test and trying to prevent being fired from it. Not only was that the first episode I didn't enjoy on an entertainment spectrum, but it killed the credibility her "higher-than-thou" character had going for it, which I know was likely the point, but it still demoted her to a problematic level. I have no tolerance for people who get negative repercussions for drug use. You know it's frowned upon and you get what you deserve, basically. Bye Felicia.

There are a ton of very, very attractive women on Gotham, but holy shit are they all so messed up. Leslie Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) is hyper judgmental. Valerie Vale (Jamie Chung) is bitchy and untrustworthy. While Maggie Geha herself is one year younger than I am (she's 28) and very hot, in the timeline context of the show, Poison Ivy is still a teenage Ivy Pepper, so knowing that just makes it creepy as hell. Barbara Kean (Erin Richards) and Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas) are still gorgeous women, but their characters are sociopaths.

In a way, the same applies to the women of Westworld. I'm not the biggest Evan Rachel Wood fan out there, but there are positives to her character until you find out that she's probably going to be the biggest murdering robot of the bunch. When Tessa Thompson, Angela Sarafyan, Thandie Newton and Ingrid Bolsø Berdal are attractive but they follow the same path of being artificial intelligent robots who will kill you, it's kind of hard to justify them taking up a spot over someone like Ella Lopez, isn't it?

I normally include Penny (Kaley Cuoco) from The Big Bang Theory and Paige Dineen (Katharine McPhee) from Scorpion, but I actually haven't even bothered with Scorpion yet and I have a feeling I might stop watching that series, while Penny's character has just stalemated with me and didn't take priority over anybody else.

I'm interested to see if there are any characters from some upcoming shows that haven't debuted yet which I'll be checking out, such as The Great Indoors, Riverdale, Training Day, Falling Water, and Powerless, but that remains to be seen. The later debuts always get shafted on this list, which is why Mary (Dilshad Vadsaria) from Second Chance never made it into the group last year, even though she would have if it premiered earlier than December.

Well those are the top ten women I'm watching on television right now, but since that's all from my own likes/dislikes and opinions, I'm curious who everyone else has on their lists instead. Make sure to sound off in the comments below about the men and women on TV that you currently have a little bit of a thing for!

Justice League vs. Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers Crossover Comic

Posted by TDR - Wednesday, October 12, 2016

A recent announcement put out by DC Comics states that the next crossover project for Boom Studios following Lumberjanes/Gotham Academy along with Green Lantern/Planet of the Apes is that of a rather unusual comics crossover. DC's all-star superhero team The Justice League, consisting of some of the most iconic superheroes of all time such as Superman and Batman, will be crossing over with the popular '90s dinosaur-themed television show Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, which has been all over the Internet lately after the release of the first trailer for the new reboot film.

Writing this comic mini-series will be Tom Taylor (Injustice: Gods Among Us) with artist Stephen Byrne (Justice League of America Rebirth: The Ray). The plot will involve Zack the Black Ranger crossing into the DC Universe and the Power Rangers attempting to save him from Batman.

Boom Studios DC Comics
Strangest crossover yet?

This is rather strange as the difference in power sets really make you question how something like this could possibly work when you have superheroes like Superman and The Flash who can make short work out of the Rangers. A crossover like the recent Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles mini-series just made sense and blended together seamlessly as both sets of heroes and villains were similar and different enough to create a story where both shine equally. That isn't the case here. Those martial arts and giant robots can only get one so far when they have the Speed Force or a strong Kryptonian to deal with, especially since Superman has a track record of punching giant robots.

DC Superman Animated Series images
Is this even a fair fight?

However, it can be said that the Ranger powers are rooted in magic—a known weakness of Superman's—and that the Yellow Ranger could prove herself to be difficult to Green Lantern due to the "yellow impurity" Parallax concept. Only time will tell how this crossover will play out in January 2017.

With these issues, readers can also expect a variant cover by different artists, pairing each member of the Justice League with a Power Ranger:

  • Batman/Pink Ranger by Dan Hipp
  • Cyborg/Blue Ranger by Dustin Nguyen
  • The Flash/Black Ranger by Yasmine Putri
  • Green Lantern John Stewart/Yellow Ranger by Marguerite Sauvage
  • Superman/Green Ranger by Chris Sprouse
  • Wonder Woman/Red Ranger by Marcus To

So what do you think of the prospect of a Justice League/Power Rangers crossover? What do you think should go into it? Let us know in the comments below!

Marvel's Iron Fist NYCC Teaser Trailer First Impressions

Posted by Anthony Mango - Saturday, October 8, 2016

The Marvel camp released some new information today about the Netflix series, including the reveal that Sigourney Weaver will be the lead villain in The Defenders as well as the New York Comic Con teaser trailer for the upcoming Iron Fist.

Normally, I would be doing a Trailer Reaction video for this sort of thing, but time is escaping me, so we'll have to settle for option #2: a first-impressions review breakdown.

HITS:

  • Madame Gao! I was hoping she would return. She's a badass.
  • I already hate the Meachums in just a few flashes, so that's good.
  • Seeing Danny's hand glow yellow is great, as it means they're not going to ignore that power aspect.
  • The same goes for the Iron Fist logo on his chest.
  • Colleen Wing looks like she'll be this show's answer to Misty Knight and Elektra mixed together, which is how I was hoping she would be. I'm not super familiar with the character, but from what I do know, she shouldn't be a pushover, so that's good to see her kicking some ass.

MISSES:

  • No look at the costume. Sad face.
  • I still don't quite get how this will feel as gritty as the previous three shows, but I trust them to prove me wrong. This trailer just didn't do that, however.
  • I'm not digging the curly hair and beard look.
  • This didn't "wow" me like the Luke Cage or Daredevil teasers did. I'm left wanting more rather than being pumped, even though I didn't dislike what I saw.

K'un-Lun saved him. Lei Kung trained him. And now, Danny Rand is back to fight for what's his.

Marvel's Iron Fist will premiere on Netflix on March 17, 2017.

Showrunner: Scott Buck
Written by: Scott Buck and Scott Reynolds
Starring: Finn Jones (Danny Rand / Iron Fist), Jessica Henwick (Colleen Wing), Lewis Tan (Zhou Cheng), David Wenham (Harold Meachum), Jessica Stroup (Joy Meachum), Simone Missick (Misty Knight) and Tom Pelphrey (Ward Meachum)

The Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers are scheduled for a big-budget blockbuster reboot coming to theaters March 24, 2017. Recently, Lionsgate has released the first official trailer for the upcoming film for New York Comic Con, resulting in a much-renewed interest in the beloved '90s franchise not seen since the Joseph Kahn and Adi Shankar R-rated short film Power/Rangers from early 2015.

After an initial viewing, it presented a much different tone compared to the bombastic children's television show. The general consensus being that it's "The Breakfast Club meets Chronicle."

Saban Lionsgate Power Rangers
It's Morphin' Time!
Set to "I Walk the Line" by Halsey, we see glimpses of all the soon-to-be Rangers and their lives before they are granted their powers. According to the marketing website Angel Grove High School, Jason Lee Scott (Dacre Montgomery) was a dedicated student and star athlete on and off the field; a leader among teammates and peers. This isn't much different from the previous interpretation of the character played by Austin St. John in the original series. However, as the trailer shows, Jason was involved in some sort of joyriding accident that has gotten him into trouble with the police, resulting in him wearing an ankle monitor.

Next, we see Kimberly Hart (Naomi Scott). While Amy Jo Johnson's original Pink Ranger was a gymnast, this version of Kimberly seems to be former cheerleader royalty, but something has happened to take that away from her. She decides to take a different direction in her life, abandoning her uniform, cutting her hair, and transitioning to a much more rebellious phase.

For both Kimberly and Jason, it will be interesting to see what caused their respective arcs to go this route. Even more interesting is the implied romance between the two, as fans of the series are more familiar with Kimberly instead being in a relationship with Tommy Oliver. Both the Twilight and The Hunger Games franchises prominently featured love triangles, so will we see #TeamJason and #TeamTommy when the sequel comes around?

Saban Lionsgate Power Rangers Twilight Hunger Games
And Power Rangers joins the bunch?

RJ Cyler plays the Blue Ranger Billy Cranston, taking over for David Yost. He is depicted as "whip-smart and sweet" as well as "the most pure-hearted of the group" yet again, keeping in tune with what we expected. Sources say Billy's side-hobby is fossil hunting, which explains why he would carry around dynamite as seen in the trailer. He is also depicted as the one getting bullied in school before having one of the two moments that echo Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man film's "budding powers" scenes. While Jason's is the mysterious addition of abs, Billy's is the comeuppance of the bully when he's being picked on. He gets what's coming to him. It seems like a good amount of the movie's humor will be coming from Billy.

Not much is shown of Ludi Lin—the new Black Ranger, Zack Taylor. The TV counterpart played by Walter Jones was always the cool kid in Angel Grove, which may be the case here, albeit tweaked. Official character descriptions depict him as "filled with bravado and swagger. He is tough and cool on the exterior, but has many layers beyond his fearless appearance. Zack advertises everything about himself except the truth, which makes him feel deeply inferior to all his peers."

The new girl to Angel Grove is Trini Kwan (Becky G, previously portrayed by Thuy Trang). One of her primary hardships is that her parents constantly move for work, making her somewhat of a loner who can never truly form any friendships. She's been described as "self-sufficient, contemplative, but always observant." It was a rather neat Easter egg to see her wearing a t-shirt bearing the same year Thuy Trang was born.

Saban Lionsgate Power Rangers
Easter Eggs!
The trailer also offers a quick look at our new Rita Repulsa, played by Elizabeth Banks. In just one line of her saying she's "killed Rangers before," her version of the classic villain is presented as much more of a genuine threat instead of the cartoonish one from the television series. It also indicates there is a much bigger universe where possibly the team's mentor Zordon (Bryan Cranston) was a Ranger once before.

Saban Lionsgate Power Rangers Elizabeth Banks Becky G
This never happened in the TV show!

Unfortunately, we did not get a look at the Zords, the suits in action, or even Zordon and Bill Hader's take on Alpha 5 just yet. Perhaps another trailer will be released closer to the holidays where merchandise can play a factor.

NYCC 2016: WWE Partners with TMNT for Ninja Superstars Toy Line

Anyone who follows Fanboys Anonymous should also be fully aware by now about its sister website Smark Out Moment, which revolves around the world of professional wrestling. Well, those two worlds are crossing over yet again as it was announced today at New York Comic Con 2016 that WWE will be partnering up with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for a brand new toy line.

Playmates Toys is developing the "Ninja Superstars" line of action figures which will be a collaboration between various characters from the TMNT series alongside different WWE wrestlers. The figures are 6" tall and of course come with a variety of weapons that both ends of the spectrum should recognize. Trash cans aren't just something used in Extreme Rules matches, after all.

So far, we have a look at the four turtle protagonists mashed up with arguably four of the top ten stars in the entire wrestling business:

From left to right, we have "Raphael/Sting," "Leonardo/John Cena," "Donatello/Undertaker," and "Michelangelo/Macho Man Randy Savage."

In their own way, these make a lot of sense. John Cena has been the figurehead of the company for a decade, and Leonardo is the leader. You can justify The Undertaker's old purple connection to tie him into Donny's mask. Randy Savage was a bright and colorful character, so he fits Mikey much better than someone else. Raphael and Sting both have had that loner vigilante-type character, too.

Noticeably absent are a few names that I would have expected to see incorporated in some fashion. Hulk Hogan not being involved makes a lot of sense, due to his position being on the outs of the company after his whole sex tape scandal, but his over-the-top ring gear and massive popularity would have been a great resource to draw inspiration from. Maybe he could have been their Splinter hybrid by giving the wise rat a do-rag and styling his hair to fit The Hulkster's?

Also, if we don't get a Sheamus/Rocksteady mashup, then that's a travesty. As much as I complain about Sheamus all the time, I think he was actually one of the best parts of the most recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows film. He literally portrayed the character on screen, so that needs to carry over. It just makes too much sense.

My guess is The Rock is too popular of a brand on his own to be able to work in this capacity, whereas Stone Cold Steve Austin and Brock Lesnar likely passed on something that would downgrade their image—or there's some kind of impending announcement that Lesnar will be merged with the Technodrome and Austin will be the new Shredder or something…unless that's going to be where Triple H pops up, even though we all know Kevin Nash is the only one to truly be considered for that role.

The kid in me who was a big fan of both of these properties is of course smiling about the idea, but I'm curious what you have to say. What are some other hybrids you'd like to see? Should Baxter Stockman be merged with Big Show? Can we can an April O'Neil and Stephanie McMahon?

NYCC 2016: Marvel's The Punisher Netflix Series Casting Announcements

Posted by The Dace Man - Thursday, October 6, 2016

What's up Dacetacular Nation? Do you smell it? It's that time of year again! New York Comic Con is here and as always some of the hottest news breaks on the Internet the same day Comic Con kicks off!

Latest Rumors and news about The Punisher

If you're a big fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you're part of the majority, and if not…what the hell is wrong with you? News broke earlier this week as well as today on Marvel's Punisher series coming to Netflix.

The first bit of news was blatantly obvious if you're trolling around New York: production began on the series. There have been several photos snapped of leading man Jon Berenthal as well as the familiar face of Deborah Ann Woll reprising her role as Karen Page from Daredevil.

The second bit of news released today was the addition of three other actors just signed to the series. Ben Barnes of The Chronicles of Narnia fame was cast as Billy Russo, Frank's best friend from the Special Forces who runs the successful military corporation Anvil.

Another addition was Ebon Moss-Bachrach from the show Girls who formerly worked for the NSA and has some information valuable to Mr. Castle. Lastly, they added Amber Rose Revah (Indian Summers, Son of God) who appears to be the female lead and a possible love interest for Frank.

So there you have it—the first chunk of news from the Marvel camp coming out of the largest convention on the East Coast, New York Comic Con 2016.

Remember, keyboard warriors: leave your feedback! What do you think of this casting news? Will Ben Barnes go full-on Jigsaw in this season or will that be saved for later? What other characters do you hope make an appearance on the show?

Until the next time, for the few, the proud, and, of course, the Dacetacular, grab a beer—and in this case, your punishment—and check out what's going on here in the Dace-Sphere at Fanboys Anonymous. See ya next time!

Welcome to another edition of Wed, Bed, or Dead—the Fanboys Anonymous equivalent to games such as Marry/Fuck/Kill, or "Kill, Bang, Marry" or any of those other alternative names with the same "would you rather" ranking concept.

If you're unfamiliar with these games, here are the rules: three men or women will be pitted against each other and you are forced to place each of them into a specific category of your choosing. You cannot double up on any category, replace people, or anything else. You must pick one to "Wed" (marry), one to "Bed" (have sex with), and for "Dead" (kill)—in theory, of course.

Marry Fuck Kill Luke Cage Netflix Season 1 who would you bang kill marry

Wed, Bed, or Dead: Luke Cage Netflix Season 1 Romances
Claire Temple vs. Misty Knight vs. Reva Connors

Having just binge-watched all of season 1 of Marvel's Luke Cage television series on Netflix, there are three major love interests the main character deals with over the course of the 13 episodes. Of course, there are plenty of other women on the show like Mariah Dillard, Priscilla Ridley, Candace Miller and Patricia Wilson, but the true triad would be Claire Temple, Misty Knight and Reva Connors.

SPOILER ALERT. If you haven't watched the season yet, you might not want to read the rest of this, as what transpires is factored into my choices.

My Votes
Wedding Proposal = Claire Temple
Bedroom Invitation = Misty Knight
Death Sentence = Reva Connors

The very first episode shows off Simone Missick's body in a great way, which was one hell of an impression. While Rosario Dawson and Parisa Fitz-Henley are both beautiful as well, I think Missick has the best body, which gives her a big bonus towards the Bed category. When you factor in personality, Reva would have been my Wed option if she didn't turn out to be a deceptive liar in the end. This immediately disqualified her and put her in the Dead slot, even though I dig girls in glasses and she comes off as the most intelligent, which is another big plus. If she's the Dead, then between Claire and Misty, I think Claire has the better personality to be married to. Both stand up for themselves and take no shit, but Claire is much more supportive and selfless. Misty has some trust issues and her career as a cop gives her a sort of dark side that gets in her way. All in all, Claire's got the looks and the personality, Misty's got the looks, and Reva shot herself in the foot by being a villain.

Those are my choices, but what would you pick for these three?
Who gets the wedding ring, who gets the wild night of passion and who gets the guillotine?
Tell us who you picked for what in the comments below as well as suggestions for the next edition!

6 Flicks Picks for October 2016 Movie Release Schedule

Posted by Anthony Mango - Saturday, October 1, 2016

Welcome to another edition of 6 Flicks Picks, wherein I list all of the upcoming films that are scheduled to be released in the United States for the month which is about to begin and break down which ones I'll be watching in theaters, which ones I'll wait to rent at home, and which ones I'll be skipping out on entirely. After going through the list, I'll choose which six films stand out to me as the ones I want to see the most, even if there are more or less than six that interest me.

Note: The list below is based primarily off the expanded nationwide USA release dates on IMDB as well as some other random outlets if possible, so some information may be different. If I am missing some of the limited releases or the dates conflict in some fashion, please let me know in the comments below and any adjustments and corrections will be made!

Without further ado, another new month means another new set of films, so what's coming soon to theaters in October 2016?

6 FLICKS PICKS

Which films make the cut?

6. Jack Reacher: Never Go Back — Ironically enough, I would have to go back, because I never saw the first one. It looked like a generic soulless action movie from the trailers, so I didn't bother with it, but since it came out, I've heard some good things. As such, I would need to check that out first before going to see the sequel, but this is a very limited month and it edges out Kevin Hart: What Now? because comedy specials in a movie theater always feels weird to me, and I can't give Max Steel the last spot as it looks so childish.

5. American Pastoral — Ewan McGregor is underrated, Dakota Fanning has a ton of talent, Jennifer Connelly is still gorgeous and I'm sure she'll be great as well, and the tone of the trailer was nice and eerie, so again, on a limited month, this suddenly gets the #5 spot. If this were the summer, it probably wouldn't make the list until I heard some buzz, which I haven't yet.

4. The Birth of a Nation — Putting all of the controversy aside, this could be one of the biggest and most important movies of the year when it comes to the Academy Awards, so it's almost a must-see.

3. The Girl on the Train — I still don't have a clue what the hell this movie is about (although I'm assuming some girl is on some train at some point) and I like it that way. A few short synopses and being told it's "the next Gone Girl" and I'm intrigued.

2. The Accountant — Ben Affleck as a hitman with crazy intelligence? Yeah, I'm in.

1. Inferno — I loved The Da Vinci Code and while Angels & Demons didn't measure up quite the same, I enjoyed that a lot as well, so Inferno is the only movie out of this list I knew for sure I'll be checking out months ago. For a point in time, it was just this film and Gambit on my list for October, but we all see how the Ragin' Cajun turned out, so that leaves Tom Hanks and hopefully not that weird ass haircut from the first film.
