It all looks furious and fun. Killer Instinct always seemed to favor the button masher. It was always easy to accidentally flow into combos. It was one of the appeals of the original game. This reboot seems more of the same, which is a good thing. Also, it's free to play. Kind of...
Not "Only For Nintendo" anymore.
Confirmed by IGN, only one character is free. The rest? You have to pay per character. Price per character has yet to be confirmed, but I find this sort of thing atrocious. We can't seem to avoid this type of business model when it comes to smartphone gaming, but now it's starting to show up in consoles as well. I would bet money that the cost of unlocking all the characters would add up to anywhere between $40 USD and $60 USD. Even if it winds up being on the cheaper side, this sort of tactic really rubs me the wrong way.
