Rumor over at latino-review.com is that Pixar has officially been given the go-ahead on their own Star Wars film. The expectations on all SW-related products have been dizzying this past year: Episode VII, Rebels TV series, and a whole lot more.
I was never a huge fan of The Clone Wars Animated Series; I gave it a try, but I personally find it very hard to care about that era. They really messed up the history and mythology, but the episodes I did watch were at least entertaining. In any case, I'm up for a fresh start with not only a smoother style of animation but also far better characterization than any single one of the prequels had. Oh, and I sure hope there are plenty of episodes that deal with trade embargoes. Those are exciting as hell. Kids love them, too.
Not only did WALL-E show us what Pixar can do with robots and space, but who didn't think of this years ago at the Buzz Lightyear opening sequence to Toy Story 2? If this pans out, a whole new film series could be in the works here.
What say you? Are you a hardcore Clone Wars fan who hates the idea?
