Comic book fans are used to seeing alternate versions of their heroes. Look at any two books and almost every artist has their own take on any given character; from the length of Batman's ears to the shape of Superman's "S," then you get into video game versions, animated versions, and so on. We have had live-action Batman suits, Superman suits, and even Wonder Woman suits, but never have they had to match and play well off one another.
This is the goal of Michael Wilkinson, the costume designer for such projects as the recent American Hustle. He was quickly interviewed last week on the red carpet at the Academy Awards. What spin will he put on these characters? On Wonder Woman's design he says "you just have to look at the gladiators from ancient Rome; they did their thing in little loincloths, and a spear and a shield," he said. Wilkinson continued, "It works for Thor, it works for 300—so let's see what happens."
He is taking great care with the task of bringing Wonder Woman to the big screen for the first time, stating, "She really deserves to be presented on screen in her full glory."
Wilkinson also confirmed he will be "tweaking" the Superman uniform seen in the recent Man of Steel film. Could this mean a brighter version to contrast Batman's Dark Knight of BadAssdom? Will the red Underoos return?
As much as I rag on how poorly I fear this project may get mishandled, it will be extremely exciting to see these three icons on screen together in live-action. New announcements may come regarding other costume designs as well. Rumors abound of appearances by characters such as Green Lantern, Aquaman, and The Flash.

What alternate costume designs are you hoping to see in this film? Dark Knight? Bright Super? Sexy Wonder Woman or Warrior Wonder Woman?
