Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.Williams rose in popularity as a stand-up comedian and with his role on popular television series Mork & Mindy. As an actor he is known for parts in Dead Poet's Society, Aladdin, Hook, Jack, and Jumanji; but he took home an Oscar for his performance as Dr. Sean Maguire in Good Will Hunting.
He will be reprising his role as Theodore Roosevelt in the third installment of the Night at the Museum franchise due out this December. Fox released a statement of "There really are no words to describe the loss of Robin Williams. He was immensely talented, a cherished member of our community, and part of the Fox family. Our hearts go out to his family, friends and fans. He will be deeply missed."
It was recently announced that he'd also be reprising his role as Mrs. Doubtfire in a sequel directed by Chris Columbus. The status of that film is now unknown.
