Who's the Tick, right? Some of you non-freakaziods out there may be clueless about the character and while I don't blame you all that much, you should get out more.
The Tick, the live action version of the comic book character, was played to perfection by the lovable lug Patrick Warburton, better known as Puddy from
Seinfeld.
What was so great about David Puddy was his lasting impact. I've seen every episode of
Seinfeld multiple times, and what's shocking is that Warburton's character appeared in a mere ten episodes, yet his presence was astounding. The same is true of
The Tick live action series. It lasted less than a season, a paltry nine episodes, yet Amazon is set to revive the series as one of their new original TV shows that will be streaming soon.
Taking a page from Netflix and Hulu, Amazon is going full throttle here by adding titles to their upcoming original programming. It's a good time to be a fan of cult classics and it will be fun to see Warburton don the blue suit again.
The Tick was a silly but fun show and he's the perfect guy to play this superhero lunkhead. I hope they keep the same vibe and feel for the show going forward. Maybe this will convince Comedy Central to get going with some more
Krod Mandoon episodes.
