Today a few members of the Marvel team got together to talk with fans at the "Cup O' Joe" panel. The first topic touched upon was Black Vortex. It will be an event crossover that will include the X-Men, Captain Marvel, Nova, and The Guardians of the Galaxy. This hits shelves in February. Good to see some plans with the X-Men, despite rumors of the titles being nerfed to stick it to Fox regarding movie rights.
Next up was the acquisition of Star Wars into Marvel's catalog. There will be a Star Wars series, starting at #1, as well as Princess Leia, Darth Vader, and Kanan comics being released in early 2015. Kanan will track the backstory of the Jedi in Disney's Star Wars Rebels.
Next up on the block was The Avengers and the direction that will lead up to 2015's Secret Wars. They went on to speak about the current Axis crossover, following the X-Men and Avengers teaming up once again to take on Red Skull an his super team.
We were then shown a slide show with looks at the future of Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man. It will focus on the replacements as well as the whereabouts of the iconic heroes we know. Iron Man returns to his badass roots in Superior Iron Man.
December 24 will see the launch of a Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, which will allow writers and artists the ability to have the TV show characters interact with the larger Marvel Universe in comics.
We will see a 5-issue run of Operation S.I.N., following the early days of S.H.I.E.L.D. This will follow Peggy Carter and Howard Stark as they build S.H.I.E.L.D and conquer the villains of the '50s.
Finally, we were shown a special video announcing that Paterson's Max Ride will be launched in April 2015 as a special event.
They've just wrapped up so that ends "Cup O' Joe"; any announcements here you're excited for?
