Among various different things that were spoken about, one thing stood out to me in particular: the confirmation of Domhnall Gleeson's character as General Hux, a villain who is described by Gleeson as flat-out evil.

General Hux will be in command of the First Order and operate out of their headquarters, dubbed Starkiller Base—something many fans of the Star Wars franchise should recognize, as Luke Skywalker was originally named Luke Starkiller and the name would resurface later on as a pseudonym of Galen Marek, the protagonist of the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video game series.
While this all sounds cool, I have to admit that it upsets me. I was really holding out hope that Gleeson would be revealed as Ben Skywalker, Luke's son. He bears a strong enough resemblance to Mark Hamill that it wasn't out of the realm of possibility, and I don't like the idea of our two protagonists being Rey and Finn, particularly if Poe Dameron is the tertiary hero. Those three don't stand out to me, but even something as simple as Luke naming his son after Obi-Wan Kenobi was an idea I've absolutely loved, so not having that be canon is disappointing.
Nevertheless, despite how many reservations I have about what I've seen so far and how afraid I am that I won't like this movie, I'm still absolutely pumped and I can't wait to see it.
What are your thoughts on General Hux? Are you sad that Gleeson isn't Ben Skywalker like I am, or are you happy we won't be seeing that character come to life on the big screen? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
