Week in Geek #28: Sonic the Hedgehog Poster, Stranger Things Season 3 and More

Posted by Anthony Mango Friday, December 14, 2018
Welcome to another edition of WEEK IN GEEK here at Fanboys Anonymous—a rundown of some of the events, news and stories that went down over the past few days in the geek culture spectrum.

This week in geek culture Fanboys Anonymous nerd recap

Here are some of the topics I felt like voicing my opinions about:

Sonic the Hedgehog Poster

Why do his hands look like human hands in that silhouette? The proportions look weird and I'm getting a Teen Wolf vibe, which I don't think I should be getting. #concerned

Carmen Sandiego is Coming to Netflix

Hey, I'm not going to watch it, but that's great. A reboot of that show with a different vibe that plays to today's kids and has a bad ass woman lead should be a hit.

Stranger Things Season 3 Titles

They revealed all of the titles for the episodes of season 3, but not when the premiere date is, which irks me. You can't really tell what's going on with the titles, of course, but "The Mall Rats" and "The Battle of Starcourt" makes me think they've gotten old enough now that they're starting to be those kids who hang out in the mall all the time and that will be the new base of operations, so to speak, which is why they feel the need to use that as the end fight, since they already did the school and the lab. I'm so down. This show's great.

Godzilla II: King of the Monsters Trailer 2

Why is Godzilla so fat, though? Other than that, the movie looks like it won't be good, but that it will be visually enthralling, so I'm seeing it no matter what.

Chris Messina Cast as Victor Zsasz in Birds of Prey

I have no idea who that is, I have no faith in this Birds of Prey film, but at least Zsasz will pop up for a moment. Neat.

Solo: A Star Wars Story Disqualified from Oscars Best Score

They didn't submit it on time. Disney didn't pay attention to the date. Whoops! Oh well, it wouldn't have won anyway.

Hawk and Dawn

I'm a bit late to the party in watching last week's episode of Titans, but man, I have to mention, I really liked this episode exploring the backstory of Hawk and Dove with both Donny and Hank and Dawn. I wish we'd have gotten to see Holly Granger, but I can't nitpick. This was great, and I even loved the touch of having Hank and Don be half-brothers to help explain how different they were and to add some diversity into the mix. I really like the casting of Hank and Dawn. Minka Kelly and Alan Ritchson have been good in everything I've seen them in. Kudos for a great episode.
